THE SPACE BETWEEN

An Integrative Exploration of the Whole Horse — Where Osteopathic Assessment Meets Animal Communication

A live clinic held in Langley, British Columbia.

Application Deadline: June 15, 2026

Most equine clinics examine one system at a time.

This clinic explores what exists between them.

The Space Between is an immersive, application-based clinic that approaches the horse as a whole being — physically, emotionally, mentally, and energetically — through the combined lenses of osteopathic assessment and animal communication.

This is not a technique clinic.
It is not a certification.
It is not designed to give answers.

It is designed to expand how we see the horse in front of us.

WHAT THIS CLINIC IS

For decades, equine care has largely been divided into silos: physical, behavioral, emotional, and energetic.

The Space Between intentionally dissolves those divisions not to replace clinical assessment, but to expand it.

This clinic places two distinct modalities side by side:

Animal communication, offering the horse’s subjective perspective.

Osteopathic assessment, providing objective anatomical and biomechanical data.

Rather than positioning one as superior to the other, both are explored openly so participants can observe where information converges, where it diverges, and what deeper understanding may emerge.

WHY THIS EXPERIENCE
IS DIFFERENT

This clinic is not a demonstration of proof. It is a demonstration of process, transparency, and integration.

To protect the integrity of the experience, there is:

  • No scripting

  • No information shared between modalities beforehand

  • No retrofitting of findings

  • No performance

Each modality gathers information independently. Only afterward are the findings compared in front of the group. The purpose is not validation or disproval. It is observation.

HOW THIS CLINC WORKS

Each horse is explored through a structured process designed to eliminate bias and allow both modalities to work independently.

Morning Session — Horse 1

8:30 – 9:00 AM: Introductions and overview of day

9:00 – 10:00 AM: Animal Communication
Each horse is seen privately by the communicator. Findings are documented in writing, sealed in an envelope, and not shared with the clinicians or group.

10:00 – 11:30 AM: Osteopathic Assessment & Treatment
A full evaluation is performed without any prior knowledge of the communication findings, including posture, movement, range of motion, and sensitivity testing.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: The Reveal
The envelope is opened and both sets of findings are compared and discussed in real time.

Lunch Break: 12:30 – 1:30 PM

Afternoon Session — Horse 2

1:30 – 2:30 PM: Animal Communication (conducted independently and documented prior to assessment)

2:30 – 4:00 PM: Osteopathic Assessment & Treatment (performed without prior knowledge of the communication session)

4:00 – 5:00 PM: The Reveal

5:00 – 5:30 PM: Wrap-Up & Final Discussion

ELISSE MIKI

BSc Kin, RMT, Certified Equine Osteopath, Founder of EQ Therapeutics

Elisse is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (BSc Kin) and is completing her training in human osteopathy. She is also a Certified Equine Osteopath and Equine Performance Therapist, working with horses through an osteopathic lens. With over twenty-five years of experience working one-to-one with human clients and more than a decade working specifically with horses, Elisse focuses on understanding how structure and function interact throughout the body through assessment of posture, movement, range of motion, and tissue dynamics. She is also a strong advocate for evidence-based equine welfare and species-appropriate care, both in her teaching and through her own herd management. Horses under her care have lived well into advanced age, including individuals reaching 42, 40, and 39 years old.

ELISA VELARDE

Animal Communicator, Founder of Bridging Beings

Elisa is an animal intuitive with over twenty years of experience working with animals and their human partners. Her work focuses on listening to the horse’s lived experience, including their emotions, needs, and internal priorities, offering insight into aspects not always accessible through physical assessment. She works from the perspective that animals are conscious beings with their own awareness, perceptions, and life paths.

Within the clinic setting, Elisa works directly with the horses present, providing intuitive readings that contribute an additional layer of understanding to the overall assessment process. She also shares her work through her YouTube channel, Bridging Beings, where she connects with a global audience seeking a deeper understanding of their animals. Her approach is simple and unhurried, meeting both horse and human exactly where they are.

During her apprenticeship, Angie completed the EQ Therapeutics Cranial Therapy certifications and now works alongside Elisse as a full-time equine therapist. An Invitation to Observe Differently

Some of the most meaningful insights about a horse do not exist within a single system. They emerge when we slow down and allow multiple perspectives to exist side by side.

The Space Between clinic was created to explore that space with curiosity, transparency, and thoughtful observation.
