MEET JESSIE

JESSIE AUSTEN
CERTIFIED EQUINE THERAPIST
WHERE IT STARTED
Jessie was born and raised in BC’s Lower Mainland, where her love for horses began at a young age. She spent her early years working at barns in exchange for ride time, later leasing horses before eventually purchasing her own.
Her riding journey led her through multiple disciplines, ultimately focusing on barrel racing across British Columbia, Alberta, and Washington. These experiences shaped her understanding of the horse as both an athlete and an individual, and sparked a deeper interest in how horses move, function, and feel.

WHERE IT HAS GONE
Jessie has completed a 4-year program through the Canadian Equine Therapy Institute, accumulating over 6,000 hours of training in anatomy, biomechanics, craniosacral therapy, remobilization, massage, acupressure, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and herbal and homeopathic support.
Her training also included multiple hands-on dissections, strengthening her understanding of equine anatomy beyond textbooks. Her path into this work was driven by recognizing a gap between traditional massage therapy and veterinary care. She found osteopathy and advanced bodywork to be an effective middle ground—offering a more comprehensive approach to restoring balance and function. Jessie’s work is grounded in an osteopathic approach, focusing on restoring balance, mobility, and function through the body as an interconnected system.
